Vick Lavender - New Horizons

At long last, one of deep house's most distinctive and longest-serving artists, Vick Lavender, has made his bow on the mighty Yore Records, an imprint specialising in seriously deep, warm and woozy fare. The Strictly Jaz Unit co-founder and Chicago scene stalwart serves up 'New Horizons (Vic's Time Traveller Mix)' on side A, brilliantly balancing his usual tactile warmth, squelchy and rhythmic deepness with delicately detailed instrumentation, spacey synth solos and calming keys. Label regular Alfonso Bottone handles remix duties on side B, following the languid, warm and dreamy deep house deliciousness of the 'Lataenite' remix with the jazzy, spaced-out deep ambient house of the effortlessly excellent 'Earlysun' remix.
