Sun & Sound Detroit makes its vinyl debut here with a prime cut of house music from cross-generational favourites. Windy City wonder Glenn Underground opens with 'Dive (Into The Deep)', a hypnotic house-jazz-soul fusion where rippling arps and disco-tinged basslines meet ethereal 80s electro textures. Coflo and sillygirlcarmen combine for 'Never Forget (That Feelin')', a percussive house driver with emotive vocals. Jon Dixon's 'Saturday At Northland' is all about his virtuosic jazz and classically inspired piano improvisation over intricate drums, then the evergreen Detroit head Kevin Reynolds closes with 'I Got Music,' which marries Kraftwerk-esque synths with layered piano and dual vocals. This one shows how much class and soul proper house and techno can really have.
