Natural Rhythm - Disco Daze EP

A belated return to action from veteran Californian duo Natural Rhythm, a production pairing who have been churning out high high-grade deep house hits since the tail end of the 90s. This four-tracker, their first vinyl outing for almost two years, marks the pair's debut on the consistent Roots Recordings imprint. As the title makes clear, Disco Daze is effectively their take on sample-rich disco-house. Check first opener 'Buy Your Soul', a deep and hazy chunk of effects-and-sample-rich late-night science, before admiring the more celebratory and sun-splashed disco-house excellence of 'Hairy inside'. They opt for a more deeply dubby and percussion-rich sound on the disco-flecked West Coast deep house heaviness of 'Rollin' On Disco', while 'Not Happy, Not Sad' is a more traditional, filter-sporting disco-house excursion.
