Funki Cadets Feat. Mike Dunn & Wade Teo - Work It To The Bone

For those not in the know, Funki Cadets is an occasional alternative solo alias of Masters at Work man Louie Vega. Astonishingly, this single is only the second Vega has released under that alias, as the other cuts were all contributions to Vega Records compilations. It comes in a quartet of versions and features fellow house legend Mike Dunn and rising star Wade Teo. Vega delivers the EP-opening version, where urgent vocal loops invite us to "work it the bone" atop bouncy and heavy Afro-house beats, moody bass and trippy late-night noises. Teo wades (sorry) into muscular dark room territory on his flip-side remix (think of his work with Terry Farley and REKIDS and you're close), while Vega adds DJ tool style acapella and 'beats' versions to round off a rock-solid EP.
