"The Call" is an EP that takes on two different musical interpretations of concepts that deal with idea of "call & response". The title track serves as a sonic exploration through the call & response idea, by providing an array of rhythmic textures & tones in the melody & percussion that call to both each other & the dance floor.
"Speak Easy" brings a different take on the idea, that taps into the verbal aspect of call & response. While it's not the traditional "sing-it-back" version of what we generally think of verbal call & response to be, vocalist Novakane Omega navigates the idea in siren-like fashion. Her sultry vocal tones carry the hot & heavy message of a seductive call, while the music responds with symphonic bursts and deep emotion.
