Eddie C - Believe In Love

A warm welcome back to everyone's favourite Berlin-based Canadian, exiled Ontarian Eddie C. He's in full-on, glassy-eyed Balearic disco mode on the A-side of this fine 45, his first of 2021. 'Believe in Love' is as luscious and warming as you'd expect, with the producer cannily combining sumptupus disco loops and pitched-up female vocal snippets with locked-in mid-tempo house beats and occasional energy-raising sample cut-ups. On the flip he takes his scalpel to Prince cut 'Forever In My Life', delivering a chugging, low-slung version that sounds like the Purple One jamming with Sottish loop-jammer the Revenge.
