Beyond - The Remixes

Earlier this year, storied Chicagoan producer Vick Lavender joined forces with musician, arranger and producer Justin Dillard on Beyond, a genuinely brilliant, album-length exploration of sonically detailed dancefloor deepness. Here, the album returns in remixed form - and as expected, it's another musical treat. There are highlights aplenty to be found across the two discs, including the swinging deep house/electrofunk fusion of Jimpster's rich and colourful take on 'Time & Time Again', an ultra-deep and effortlessly soulful Sean McCabe rub of 'Experimental', Lavender's own thickset neo-boogie rub of 'Sunset BLVD', a deliciously dreamy CoFlo revision of 'Grace', a breezy and jazzy Kai Alce interpretation of 'The Midnight Hour' and a classic soulful house remix of Angel-A collaboration 'Get Here' by Eric D Clark.
